151 students at Torquay Boys’ Grammar School averaged a phenomenal 12 passes per candidate at A* - C with 74% gaining A or A*. With a 99% pass rate, the average points per candidate stand at 52 where A* is 58 and an A is 50. Boys are therefore all averaging over A passes.
2011 is the highest pass per candidate year to date. Maths, English, Science and Languages – the core subjects – gained truly remarkable results; of the 151 students in English Language, 140 gained A or A*, in Mathematics 135 gained A or A*, whilst in Biology there were 102, in Chemistry 91 and in Physics 111.
Among particularly high scoring individuals, 2 scored 11 A*s and 73 scored at least 10 As and A*s.
