Over the years Davys House has enjoyed the leadership of successful and innovative Heads of House. Being appointed as Head of Davys House I consider to be a real honour, however, it is also a big challenge.

Within Davys House there is a strong sense of togetherness, supporting one another in the various House activities. Whether it is in the House Show,  on the sporting field, in the quiz competition or in everyday school life members of Davys House give their maximum effort and encourage others in the House to do likewise.

Such positive attitude is clear in the many charitable activities that Davys has been involved in, in recent years. From 2006-2008 Davys House raised £5,000 to pay for the training of ‘Davy’ the Guide Dog, likewise many hundreds of pounds has been raised for good causes such as Cystic Fibrosis, Multiple Sclerosis and Help for Heroes.

A sense of the theatrical has developed in recent years, thanks to the work of staff and students. Since the performance of Seussical, Davys has collaborated with Hawkins House, producing Tarzan and Aladdin. Not only have the performances raised hundreds of pounds for charities but have allowed many hidden talents to be showcased.

It is those talents, together with a sense of real determination that makes Davys House a fantastic thing to be a part of. I’m sure our competitive spirit will win through and be recognised with continued successes in the House competition.

D C Hore - Head of Davys House
