21st January - TBGS Scores well in Latest League Tables

Torquay Boys’ Grammar School has performed well in the latest School League Tables released in early January. TBGS ranked in the top 200 Schools in the country, taking 126th place, with 99% of GCSE Students gaining 5 or more grades A* to C. In a similar table ranking only the State Schools, TBGS is placed 81st.

At A Level TBGS fell in 46th place, ranked by A Level points score per candidate. In the same table for State Schools, TBGS ranked in 24th place.

The Head said he was delighted with the results and they were down to the hard work of both staff and pupils.

"They have done very well," he said.

"Congratulations to the students and staff. They are very pleasing results."

He added: "The year before was our best year ever and we seem to be holding up with a slightly less academic intake."
