Business Studies GCSE
The department offers two options at GCSE. Students can choose to study either a GCSE in Business Studies or a GCSE in Business Studies and Economics. The exam board for both options is Edexcel.
Students of both options will study Unit 1: Introduction to Small Business and Unit 2, a controlled assessment. Then students of Business Studies will then go on to study Unit 3: Building a Business, while students of Business Studies and Economics will go on to study Unit 5: Introduction to Economic Understanding. All students sit their Unit 1 exam at the end of Year 10. The controlled assessment is usually carried out in the September of Year 11, with the final exam in their optional area being sat at the end of Year 11.
