Welcome to the Department of Business, Economics and Enterprise. The school was awarded a Second Specialism in Business and Enterprise in April 2007, which has played an integral part in the transformation of the department over the past few years. We offer many courses across GCSE, A Level and the IB and we also deliver a lesson of Business Studies to all Year 9 students at Key Stage three.
The department provides many extra-curricular activities and opportunities for students - with trips to Paris and New York and a conference in Bristol, as well as numerous competitions, such as Target 2.0, the PolyU Global Student Challenge, the ICAEW National Business Game BASE and the Make Your Mark Challenge to name but a few. The delivery of key enterprise skills is also coordinated by the department, with enterprise days and competitions across the school being provided.
The department enjoys a close working relationship with Torquay Grammar School for Girls at A level, and also with several other neighboring schools across other areas of the curriculum. We have worked particularly closely with Torquay Community College for the past three years.
