A Level Exam Results 2007

In 2007 seven has proved to be a lucky number at Torquay Boys’ Grammar School. Seven students will be going up to study at Oxford University, another seven at Cambridge University. One of these high flying students is Robert Crowter-Jones, who achieved a superhuman seven A grades. This feat is all the more remarkable considering that he undertook half of these exams in excruciating pain. And yet luck had little to do with it – the success of all of the students has been built on dedicated hard work on their part and on the part of their teachers.

Across the board there are many other personal success stories. 44 students gained 3 A grades or more, including 16 who got four and 8 who got five. Still others may be overlooked in the headlines but have fought and won their own personal battles and can now take great satisfaction in their achievement. The overall pass rate was 99% and 72% of exams taken resulted in A or B grades. As a result the vast majority of students have been successful in gaining their chosen places at university and this includes places on some of the most competitive courses in the country against competition from across the world.
