Catering at TBGS

At TBGS we employ our own ‘In-House’ catering team led by our excellent chef Mr Blampied.

The school has excellent dining facilities with a large dining room providing Breakfasts, Mid Morning Snacks and a full Lunchtime service with choice from a wide ranging hot menu including vegetarian dishes on a daily basis.

The menu operates to a monthly cycle giving great variety.

In addition we have a bespoke ‘Sandwich Room’ where students can make purchases from a wide range of Sandwiches and Baguettes.

All food served at the school is in accordance with the latest ‘Healthy’ guidelines from the School Food Trust.

Lunchtime meals are reasonably priced and we currently charge just £1.85 for a healthy 2 course lunch, this charge is reviewed annually.

Drinking water is freely available although bottled juices and flavoured milks are also available for purchase.

The school operates a ‘Power Card’ system for meal purchase.

Every student is given a photo ‘Power Card’ on arrival at the school. This can be ‘loaded’ by bringing in a cheque made payable to TBGS and the student then uses the card to purchase meals. 

 

Use of the ‘Power Card’ system is encouraged as it reduces the need for students to bring cash into the school. It also ensures that money given for a school dinner is spent on a school dinner.
