Why you should dare to join us
In 2013 it was stated that academically-able students made more progress in selective schools rather than when in those schools where they are in a very small minority.
"This drive for academic achievement is balanced by a deep commitment to students' wider personal and social development."
TBGS is in every respect an outstanding school. In teaching, learning, achievements, standards, in pastoral care, sport, extra-curricular activities, buildings and resources the school is acknowledged to excel. The Inspectors wrote: “The school is enthused with a lively and open atmosphere which encourages innovation and underpins a relentless drive to provide the very best education for the student”.
A TBGS education sees students enjoying learning for its own sake, developing their creative talents and fulfilling their intellectual potential. Students are provided with the skills to respond to a changing world with confidence and humility, and each person is encouraged to be reflective, open-minded and principled, so that they can make a positive contribution to their community and the wider world.
Girls as well as boys are eligible for entry into the Sixth Form: girls can be enrolled for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Boys may choose either the A-level curriculum or the International Baccalaureate curriculum. We offer a broad, balanced curriculum and extensive extracurricular opportunities in sport, music, the performing arts, languages and many other disciplines.
