Burgh House

Head of Burgh House
Mr B Passenger

In Burgh House we have high expectations of our students,  not just in terms of their academic performance, but also in their contribution to House activities and the wider school community.  We are very fortunate to be able to offer a plethora of extra-curricular clubs, societies, trips and competitions which we expect our students to take full advantage of.  We want our students to try new things, develop new interests and skills and thereby develop new friendships and work together to achieve new goals.

Underpinning the House ethos is the idea of working together to achieve excellence.  We have a superb group of tutors who support, encourage and guide our students through the ups and downs of the school year, and want each member of the House to feel valued and part of the Burgh community.  It is also important that we support each other by demonstrating tolerance, respect and integrity in all we do.  Going out of your way to help a fellow student, or a simple “how are you?” should be an every day occurrence for Burgh boys and girls.

We want our students to be proud of the House they belong to – for it to be a family that can draw on the incredible skills, talents and interests of every single student in order to inspire and motivate everyone in our House to do their best.  In short, we want our students to enjoy school and get the most they can out of it – to develop into capable, independent young men and women who can go out into the world with confidence, compassion and the determination to make a difference.
