After 43 years at Torquay Boys’ Grammar School, 27 of them
as Headteacher, my retirement is long overdue! I have written to the Governors and Trustees resigning my post as from December 2013.
It has been an absolute privilege to serve the parents, pupils
and community and it is pleasing to see Torquay Boys’
Grammar School matching the very best on the national
It gives me great pleasure to report the Trustees' decision to offer Mr Peter Lawrence, Deputy Head, the Acting Headship for the next year. I am sure Mr Lawrence will take the school forward to even greater success. Rest assured, the school is in safe hands with a brilliant staff, leadership team and governing body.
R E Pike B.A., B.ED., FRSA
I am very fortunate and privileged to be given the opportunity to follow Mr Pike as Headteacher of Torquay Boys' Grammar School. He has done so much over so many years to build the wonderful school we see today and I, together with everyone associated with TBGS, will seek to keep the school and Multi-Academy Trust moving forward, constantly striving to improve the provision and opportunities for our students.
